Where do I come from? In the year 1690 when an artist named Hevelius drew a picture of me to represent the constellation baring my name. They chose Leo to represent the zodiac sign, because, when the Sun sits in my house (constellation), the Lions of the desert fled from their hunts for the banks of the Nile. The sun remains in my house from August 10th, to September 16th each year. In the night sky, I can be found just below Ursa Major (The Big Dipper.) I am also between Cancer to the West and Virgo to the East.

What are my astrological powers? I am the lion. The fifth sign of the zodiac. My symbol is said to represent the phallus, and is embedded into the great Dionysian mysteries of our world. I also represent the Sun's fire and creative energy. It is during the second thirty-degree arc after the Summer Solstice that the Sun enters my house. I represent the very principle of cosmic splendor. My first decan represents rulership and fiery love. It has the desire to rule others. My second decan represents reformation. It gives relentless onslaughts against its enemies. My third decan represents Ambition. It has a determination to rise in life. |
